SESSION 1

In the first session, the topic and the avatar are presented. Children sit down with their group, made by the teacher. The groups are heterogeneous and are made according to the children’s English level. Then, as the pupils have some previous knowledge about invertebrates, an individual activity is done in order to see what is their level, and thus, be able to adapt the following activities. In the activity, children have to guess if animals are vertebrate and invertebrate. Finally, students share their answers with their classmates. They aim to agree upon an answer. In order to do that in English, pupils are given some scaffolding.

From left to right, there is the session purpose and an explanation of every activity of the class.

Secondly, there are the resources that are needed for each activity and the grouping.

Finally, there is the time of each activity,the time of the session and  a small description of how to deal with diversity.
