Brief explanation of session 1

This session is a 1-hour session in which the project is explained and presented to the class through a video and a letter from the scientist. Then, the roles of the project (speaker, secretary and substitute, timing controller, presentation controller and an English expert) are distributed and children sign a document in which they express their agreement with the established rules of their roles.

Then, the topic of the cells is introduced and the scientist asks the different groups some questions to answer. If there is time, the answer to these questions should be sent to the scientist.

Finally, and as homework, a small survey is sent to the students in order to check their understanding of the lesson and to see how they have worked in their roles.

Down below, you will find the detailed document with information on everything you need to know and all the needed materials.

Organitzation of the teaching unit tables

The tables that explain the teaching unit are divided in different parts.

First of all, you will find the objectives, the competences and the contents of each session.

Secondly, you will find the organitzation of the class with the explanation of what you have to do in each moment.

Then, you will find all the materials you need for the session and what you are assessing in the session.

Finally, you will find the adaptations I have made for those students who find it more difficult, some of the problems the session can have and finally the scaffolding that is given in each session.
